“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy” (Psalm 107:2). Redemption isn’t merely a personal blessing but a testimony to be shared. Those who God has redeemed should therefore openly testify about His deliverance; gratitude naturally leads to declaration of His goodness.

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:  In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:12-14). Salvation is God’s work from beginning to end. We don’t have to earn our place in God’s family; we’ve already been rescued, transferred, redeemed, and forgiven through Christ.

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). This verse connects three important truths: living transparently before God, enjoying genuine fellowship with other believers, and experiencing Christ’s ongoing forgiveness. Spiritual growth flourishes in the light, not in secrecy.

“Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:11). To reckon means to count something as true because it’s a fact. As believers, we’re not to try to die to sin, but to live out the reality that, through our union with Christ, we’re already dead to sin’s mastery and fully alive to God.

“Even if we feel guilty, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. Dear friends, if we don’t feel guilty, we can come to God with bold confidence” (1 John 3:20, 21, NLT). We can struggle with a “condemning heart” if we forget that God’s objective truth and omniscience outweigh our subjective feelings of guilt. Resting in His greater knowledge and grace settles our hearts and allows us to maintain a stance of reassurance in our relationship with Him.

“Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered” (Romans 4:6, 7). David illustrated the concept of imputed righteousness, in which the blessing described was the gift of being considered righteous even though he committed lawless deeds. Under grace, justification is a matter of God’s accounting (crediting) based on faith, not as a reward for human performance.

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16). Because Christ is our sympathetic High Priest, the seat of ultimate authority is described not as a throne of judgment, but as a throne of grace. We can approach God with boldness, trusting that we’ll find the specific help and mercy we need for our current struggles.

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children” (Ephesians 5:1, ESV). The command to imitate God is grounded in our identity as His beloved children. Just as children naturally mimic their parents, the believer’s moral life should reflect God’s character.

“For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power” (1 Corinthians 15:56, NLT). Here, Paul explained the mechanical relationship between sin, death, and the law. Death is the “sting,” or the painful outcome of sin, and the law, while holy, acts as the power of sin because it reveals God’s perfect standard we can’t meet. This emphasizes our need for a Savior who fulfilled the law on our behalf.

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14). Compared to the old covenant, the blood sacrifice Christ made is far superior to the priests’ animal sacrifices. Those rituals provided external cleansing, but Jesus’ sacrifice reaches our internal conscience and liberates us from useless efforts to earn favor through rule-keeping.

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise” (Proverbs 12:15, NKJV).
People who make their own decisions according to what they feel at the time will stumble through life making a series of bad choices. Conversely, those who seek godly counsel from others before making a decision are considered wise in God’s eyes.

“He who earnestly seeks good finds favor, but trouble will come to him who seeks evil” (Proverbs 11:27, NKJV).
God favors wise individuals who deliberately apply the principles of His Word to their lives, but not everyone has godly wisdom in this area. People who reject His instructions in favor of the world’s prevailing sentiment at the moment create their own problems in life.

“Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand” (Daniel 12:3, 10, NIV).
In the end times, the core of believers who continue to obey God’s Word will shine brightly in a spiritually dark world like a thousand-watt spotlight on a hill, and those who lead others to Christ will be blessed. God’s children will understand the wisdom contained in the Word, but the Scriptures won’t make sense to many others.

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22, 23, NKJV).
When we minister to the lost souls God puts in our path, we must remember that when we bring them His Word, it’s the only thing saving them from perishing. God shows compassion and mercy for His lost sheep through us, when we reach out to others in trouble. The Good Shepherd faithfully watches over all of His sheep, and won’t let the enemy snatch even one of them out of His hand.

“[My] brethren, if anyone among you strays from the Truth and falls into error and another [person] brings him back [to God], let the [latter] one be sure that whoever turns a sinner from his evil course will save [that one’s] soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins [procure the pardon of the many sins committed by the convert]” (James 5:19, 20, AMPC).
Forgetting about God’s Word and His plans for our lives puts us in danger of the spiritual death lurking everywhere in the world. As believers, we have a responsibility to watch out for each other and rescue each other as needed.

“For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38, 39).
Life has a sneaky way of making us feel isolated and separated from our creator, but the Scriptures tell us God will never abandon us or leave us to fend for ourselves. No matter what comes at us or who sets themselves up against us, we’ll never be on our own. There’s no other love stronger or more powerful than the Father’s love.

“And he said, ‘My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest’” (Exodus 33:14).
God cares for us so much that He promises to accompany us on our journey through life, wherever we may go and in whatever situations we encounter. When we depend on Him, instead of on our own efforts, to safely deliver us, our spirits can rest in the knowledge that we’re well taken care of.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them” (Matthew 18:20, NIV).
God has many ways of making His presence known. Jesus tells us that when we call on Him, He’ll be there. The manifestations of His presence don’t have to be loud or noisy; sometimes all we need to do is listen to that inner voice speaking to us, which is the Holy Spirit.

“The Lord your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17, NKJV).
God isn’t just some distant deity “out there” somewhere in the universe. He’s right here with us, and when we listen to His Spirit speaking to us, we find security, joy, and peace. He has promised to be with us always; we can depend on that promise, because His Word is truth.
