“But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30). Christ Himself is the source of wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. When we get born again and He takes up residence in us, then we are wise, righteous, sanctified, and redeemed.

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” (Ephesians 4:23, 24). Understanding who we are in Christ helps us live consistently with that identity. When we believe what God says about our identity, our actions begin reflecting the new nature He gave us.

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). Until Jesus came, sin separated people from God and produced spiritual death. His coming wasn’t an afterthought, but part of God's redemptive plan for humanity from the beginning.

“O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved! How long shall your iniquitous and grossly offensive thoughts lodge within you?” (Jeremiah 4:14, AMPC). God’s appeal begins with the heart; before our outward conduct can truly change, our hearts must first be cleansed. He calls His people to deal with the source of their actions—their inner thoughts, desires, and motives.

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:1, 2). The scope of Christ’s provision is universal. His saving work is sufficient for everyone, regardless of who they are or what they’ve done.

“Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]” (Romans 12:2, AMPC). The phrase “external, superficial customs” emphasizes that many cultural influences focus on outward appearances rather than godly character. As Christians, we’re called to live by God's standards rather than by society's changing opinions.

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7). The “spirit of fear” refers to being controlled by timidity or shrinking back from doing what we know is right. Instead, God provides us with strength, love, and sound judgment.

“Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (Proverbs 4:5-7). Wisdom is one of life’s greatest treasures and should be pursued with determination. Biblical wisdom involves more than knowledge; it’s the ability to apply God's principles in everyday decisions.

“And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25). Jesus instituted this observance to help us remember the significance of His sacrificial death and the love it demonstrated. We practically apply this by taking time to reflect on His sacrifice with gratitude, allowing that appreciation to strengthen our faith and motivate us to live in harmony with his teachings.

“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love” (Galatians 5:6). Outward religious rituals or status don’t determine a person’s standing before God. What truly matters is faith that is demonstrated through love.
